Yoel Alter, LCSW, has extensive experience working with adolescents, adults and married couples. He utilizes evidence-based therapy models and has trained under some of the foremost experts in the field of psychotherapy. Yoel maintains private practices in Brooklyn and Cedarhurst, and additionally serves as a Professor of Social Work at Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work. He resides in the Midwood section of Brooklyn with his wife and children.
Yoel specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and Social Skills deficits. He utilizes Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and related models, as well as the most researched and effective couples marriage counseling models, to help clients overcome mental and emotional health challenges, and resolve interpersonal relationship issues.
Yoel earned his Master of Social Work from NYU’s Silver School of Social Work. He has trained at some of the country’s most respected institutes including the Beck Institute for CBT, Penn University’s Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety, and The Akerman Institute for Family situated in New York City.
